Zephs knock off LHS

Jeziah Gregory rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns in Whitehall’s 41-19 victory over Liberty on Sept. 24 at Whitehall.

The Zephyr senior capped off the night with a 50-yard touchdown run after Whitehall recovered an onside kick.

Gregory put the Zephyrs on the board first, and after Iskander Blanco blocked a Liberty punt, Clifford Murray scooped up the loose ball for six more points.

Early in the second quarter, Liberty’s Zyaire Davis made an interception, and Alsaiah Gross scored from the 3-yard line.

The Hurricanes tied the game after back-to-back Whitehall penalties put the ball on the 1-yard line for Gross.

Tanner Dogmanits’ 29-yard touchdown pass to Henry Schultz (94 receiving yards), and Dogmanits’ 11-yard pass to Stephen Fedorak gave the Zephyrs a 27-13 lead at the half.

A scoreless third quarter was highlighted by Whitehall junior Rocco Fonzone’s interception in the end zone.

Gregory’s second touchdown of the night widened the gap in the fourth quarter, 34-13.

This week, Whitehall will travel to J. Birney Crum Stadium where they will face Dieruff on Friday night.
