Trojans win three straight games

The Parkland High School boys soccer team dropped its season opener by just one goal on the first day of the month, but since then has rattled off three consecutive victories, including two last week, both matches in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference competition.

The Trojans downed Easton 1-0 last Wednesday, September 9th, and then followed that up two days later with another one-goal win, beating Freedom 3-2 at home.

In the victory against the Red Rovers, Ethan Frey came away with the game’s only goal in the second half, on an assist by Alex Hurwitz. Matt Feiller finished with three saves in net for the win. Parkland outshot Easton 10-3 overall.

In the win over the Patriots, three different Trojans accounted for the three goals, as Hurwitz, Eddie Curelar and Zayan Yasir all found the back of the net. Cam Becker and Julian Park both contributed an assist. Feiller made six saves in net for the victory. The Trojans finished with a 10-8 edge in shots and a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Parkland, which improved to 3-1 overall and in the conference, has three games in six days this week, all in conference play. The Trojans were at East Stroudsburg South Tuesday, host Stroudsburg on Thursday and then travel to Pleasant Valley on Saturday before welcoming East Stroudsburg North to campus Monday.
