As we approach the Nov. 3 general election, Whitehall-Coplay Press, Northampton Press and Catasauqua Press, in the interest of fairness, has halted the publication of columns by local government officials.

Our election coverage will appear in the Oct. 22 edition. A list of candidates for the races, as well as their website addresses, will be printed. Readers can view the candidates’ platforms and find contact information.

Letters to the Editor, written by members of the community in support of a candidate, need to be received no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 16.

Rebuttal letters need to be received by 5 p.m. Oct. 25.
