Coplay: Bingo planned for Oct. 2
St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is hosting a Whitehall Historical Preservation Society-sponsored bingo night Oct. 2. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and games begin 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are discounted if purchased in advance. The cost includes admission, bingo cards, 20 games and door prizes. There will also be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing.
Refreshments will be available.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The October lineup is South Penn Dixie Oct. 2, New Normal Oct. 9, American Street Band Oct. 16 and Video Daze Oct. 23. The season ends with Common Bond entertaining Oct. 30 at the Halloween party, which is open to the public.
The gate opens 5 p.m., the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m., and the band plays until 10 p.m.

The Whitehall Lions Club cash bingo is set for Oct. 4 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. The jackpot is $200.
There will be bingo cards and five paper specials. Bingo chips, dabbers and food will be available for purchase.
There also is a basket social and a 50-25-25 cash drawing.
All proceeds benefit Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative, Whitehall Food Pantry and Coplay Food Bank. Bring a canned or boxed food to donate.

The mayor’s office is seeking Coplay residents interested in developing and leading a Coplay town watch. Training will be provided in crime watching and activities to increase the safety of Coplay.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the municipal building, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

The model train room is operated by Explorer Post 101. The mission is to promote interest in the hobby of model railroading to 12- to 21-year-olds. There is also a club for ages 12-14.
Meetings are 7-9 p.m. Thursdays on the second floor of the municipal building.

The Coplay aerobics classes meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.
