For the past two weeks, Whitehall has pieced together two solid victories, pulling them both out in the second half.

Their latest one was a 36-33 victory over Pleasant Valley in which the Zephyrs trailed 21-10 at halftime before they responded with 26 second-half points.

The victory gave the Zephyrs an overall 3-1 record and a 1-0 slate in East Penn Conference. They will be back in action Thursday when they Liberty Thursday night.

Zephyrs’ quarterback Tanner Dogmanits completed 19 0f 23 passes for 284 yards with a pair of touchdowns, and Jeziah Gregory rumbled for 126 yards with three touchdowns. Henry Schultz caught seven passes for 126 yards with a score.

On the other side of the ball, Iskander Blanco recorded eight tackles, and Aidan Hannis had seven stops.

Despite his club’s comeback, Whitehall head coach Andy Marino knew his team had to battle until the end.

“Credit Pleasant Valley,” stressed Marino. “They played a clean game with incredible effort. It was good to see our team not splinter and keep focused on our execution.”

Marino has been pleased with his offense’s steady stream of improvement.

“The whole offense is getting better at the little things,” added Marino. “We are finding some consistency at the line of scrimmage, which has allowed our skill guys to make plays.”

The Zephyrs will meet Liberty (1-3), which dropped a 13-12 decision to Northampton in the final minute.

Yet, Marino isn’t taking anything for granted.

“Liberty is very explosive on offense,” said Marino. “They are also aggressive on defense. We look forward to a great game on Thursday night.

ZEPHYR ZOUNDS: The two teams haven’t met since 2023 when Whitehall pulled out a 23-20. Liberty last posted a victory in the series in 2019 with a 52-27 win ... Liberty got off to a 0-12 start with blowout losses to Pennridge (35-0) and Central Bucks East (35-6) before they beat Stroudsburg, 28-14 ... Dogmanits has completed 57 of 81 for 828 yards with five touchdowns and one interception ... Gregory has 408 yards with four touchdowns, and Schultz has 23 catches for 400 yards with three touchdowns ... Hannis leads the team in tackles with 32 and a sack, Iskander has 28, and Ben Pychinka has 27 ... Whitehall has converted 38 percent of their third downs ... Nicholas Milley booted a 29-yard field goal against Pleasant Valley, and he is 2-for-4 for the season ... Liberty quarterback Alsaiah Gross completed 10 of 18 for 175 yards and two touchdowns last week, and he has completed 47 of 87 for 675 with seven touchdowns and two interceptions ... Hurricanes’ running back Treyce Whitlow ran for 67 yards last week and has 244 yards with three touchdowns, and receiver Zyaire Davis has been a playmaker with 20 catches for 748 yards with three touchdowns. He had seven catches for 148 yards with a pair of touchdowns last week.

PREDICTION (My season record 3-1): Zephyrs have the benefit of another home game, their fourth straight before they travel to Dieruff and Emmaus ... They seem to be putting it all together on both sides of the ball, and Dogmanits is starting to show the same all-state form he showed last year ... Zephyrs have shown and incredible amount of fortitude aide from their blowout loss to Nazareth ... This game shouldn’t be any different.
