Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will hold its annual fall picnic 4 to 8 p.m. There will be live music by “Midnight Special” from 5 to 8 p.m. They will also have great food, baked goods, basket raffle and a cake walk. The rain date is 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 27.

Oct. 4

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 4 for their hoagie sale. Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie. Oct. 6

Emmaus Garden Club will meet at noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Program will be “The Sport of The Sport of Extreme Gardening.” Join Jim Pantano as he takes us into the world of extreme gardening, He will share insider tips on soil preparation, seed selection, fertilizing, watering, and pest control. Learn how to grow a giant Atlantic pumpkin in your own backyard. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Entrance at the front and back of the bldg./gymnasium. Parkland Trojan Alumni Varsity Club will meet 6 p.m. at the HOPS-Fogelsville Hotel, 7921 Main St. Fogelsville. Speakers will be the current Parkland girls varsity basketball coach Megan Kave and boys varsity basketball coach Ed Ohlson Jr. All are invited to attend. Cost of dinner will be $15 per person.

Oct. 10

Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, will be holding its Octoberfest 4 to 6 p.m. in the Family Center at the church. Menu will include bratwurst, sauerkraut, baked potato with toppings, hot dogs, soft pretzels and nonalcoholic beer (birch beer and root beer). Oct. 22

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for their Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue. The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll. They will also be selling apple dumpling with or without syrup. Pickup will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31. Oct. 29

The Sanctuary at Haafsville in partnership with Ciocca of Allentown, will be holding a Trunk or Treat event 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Ciocca Subaru, 4611 Hamilton St., Allentown. There will be trunks full of goodies for kids and food provided. Also, meet adoptable dogs and cats.

Nov. 7

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4-7 p.m. The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert. Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door. There is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children 4 year old and under are free.
