The Emmaus Garden Club will travel to the New York Botanical Gardens. There is a cost for tickets. The NYBG is located in The Bronx and is designated a national historic landmark. Trip highlights will include the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, rose gardens, water features and New York City’s only fresh water river. A 30-minute narrated tram tour also will be available. Sept. 24

Historian Mike Jesberger will talk about Gen. George Washington and his troops in the program “Footprints in the Snow” hosted by the Upper Milford Historical Society 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Emmaus. All are welcome.

Sept. 26

Lower Milford Township will host its 24th annual fall festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the campus of the municipal building, 7607 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Coopersburg. The event will include photo and coloring contests, an apple pie baking contest, food trucks, artisan and craft vendors, free tractor rides, opportunities to build a scarecrow, music performances and more. The Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus and the Giant Company will host an immunization clinic 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is open to all ages. Giant Pharmacy’s mobile team will offer the 2026-2027 season flu vaccine; the 2026-2027 season COVID-19 vaccine; pneumonia vaccine; RSV vaccine; shingles vaccine and tetanus booster. Individuals should plan to bring their Medicare, medical and pharmacy insurance cards. To make an appointment, use the online scheduler and follow the prompts to schedule. Appointments are encouraged but are not necessary.

Sept. 27

“Voices of the Past: An Early Autumn Afternoon Cemetery Walking Tour,” led by historian Joshua Arthur Fink, will be held 4:30 p.m. at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. The walk will begin in the historic sanctuary of the church and then proceed out to the old and new cemeteries. Participants will be divided into groups and will proceed on the tour with a tour guide to five different grave sites, where they will learn about the people of the past through first person interpreters or actors. Participants will meet the following persons and hear their stories: a son returning to pay his respects to his grandfather and parents, a woman recalling the Revolutionary War and the effect on the home front, a grieving Civil War widow, a mother remembering the deaths of her daughter and niece and a local chocolatier. The program will be held rain or shine and last approximately 90 minutes. After the tour of the cemeteries, participants will return to the sanctuary for a question and answer period and will end with refreshments and fellowship time in the Tilghman K. Kline Memorial Chapel. Participants should wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Sept. 28

The Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company will host a family-friendly open house 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its station, 950 South Ott St. Attendees will have opportunities to tour the fire apparatus, meet local firefighters, see live demonstrations and learn about fire safety.

Sept. 29

Second Harvest Food Bank will hold its Hunger Action Night fundraiser 5 to 8 p.m. at Black River Farms, 2472 Black River Road, Bethlehem. Highlights will include music performances by local musician Jeni Hackett, a paint and sip led by local artist Laura Brady, a silent auction and refreshments from Butterhead Kitchen, Crafted Feasts, Sweet Girlz Bakery, SweetShot Cakery and Wonder Kitchen. There is a cost for tickets and proceeds directly support Second Harvest Food Bank’s mission to provide nutritious food to area children, families, seniors and veterans.

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society quarterly meeting will be held 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township building, 5671 Chestnut St. The program will feature Pennsylvania Dutch folk music. Scott Reagan, of Nazareth, will perform a program of traditional and original Pennsylvania Dutch songs. The program is free and light refreshments will be served.

Oct. 1

Emmaus Public Library will host its annual Community Heroes Day 6-7:30 p.m. The event is held in the parking lot of the library, 11 E. Main St. and traditionally features first responder vehicles such as police cruisers, ambulances and fire trucks and opportunities to talk with area first responders about their work. This an outdoor event. The rain date is Oct. 15.

Oct. 3

The Emmaus Borough Police Department will host its National (Day) Night Out noon to 5 p.m. at Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road, Emmaus. The event will feature law enforcement K-9, motorcycle, bicycle unit and drone demonstrations, a MedEvac helicopter landing, a car cruise, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, mascots, music performances, a climbing wall, bumper cars, local businesses and organizations and more.

The Alburtis Fall Festival is scheduled noon to 5 p.m. at the Alburtis Area Community Center, 220 W. Second St., Alburtis. The event will feature food trucks, local vendors, bounce houses, a pumpkin drop and more. The rain date for the festival is Oct. 4.

Oct. 4

The Lower Macungie Township Historical Society will host an autumn open house at the historic Henry Bortz Log House at Wescosville Park, 5047 Hamilton Blvd., Wescosville, 2-4 p.m. Visitors will also be able to view the adjacent garden in its autumnal phase. Please note the LMTHS Museum at Olympic Park will be closed on the day of the event.

Oct. 6

The Emmaus Garden Club will meet noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus, for the program “The Sport of Extreme Gardening” presented by Jim Pantano, who will share insider tips on soil preparation, seed selection, fertilizing, watering and pest control. Learn how to grow an Atlantic Giant pumpkin. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.

Oct. 10

The Emmaus High School Class of 1966 will mark 60 years with a reunion event starting 1 p.m. at Superior Restaurant, 102 Main St., Emmaus. The event will include a buffet meal, socializing and other highlights. There is a cost per person and the deadline for RSVPs and fees is Oct. 1. Address fees to Hope Delaco, 110 Ft. Sumpter Road, Alburtis, 18011 with checks payable to “Emmaus High School Class of 1966.”

An A-Maizing Corn Celebration is scheduled 10 a.m. to noon at Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Learn how corn was first cultivated and the ways it has been used throughout history. Highlights include a corn mosaic craft.

Oct. 12

Story Time on the Lenape Trail is scheduled 10-10:45 a.m. at the Little Lehigh Parkway. Participants will enjoy a storywalk. Parking will be available in the parking lot at 2901 Fish Hatchery Road. All ages welcome.

Oct. 14

The Vera Cruz Community Association will host the Vera Cruz Halloween parade. Parade participants will gather at Mystic Chain Park, 3718 Main Road East, Upper Milford Township, 6:30 p.m. The parade starts promptly 7 p.m. The parade will include floats and the Emmaus High School marching band is expected to participate. National Dessert Day will be celebrated 6-7 p.m. with the program “Pumpkin Sweet Treats: A Taste-Testing Party” at the Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. The program is intended for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Oct. 21

The program, E.M. Maus Burrow Mysteries, originally scheduled to be presented by artist and author, Bob Boehmer in September, will be held 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus The program was postponed due to construction occurring at the church. The program, originally scheduled for Oct. 21 about the Emmaus Police Department, is rescheduled to Feb. 17, 2027.

Oct. 24

Alburtis will host its annual Halloween parade 7 p.m. Food trucks, music performances and other activities will be available before the parade as parade participants gather for step-off.

Oct. 29

The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will host its Fall Dessert Card Party 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Card and board games will be played.
