Mary Ann Geosits, 88, of Whitehall, died Sept. 4, 2026.

Born in New York City, she was a son of the late Rose (Zimits) and Frank Geosits.

She attended St. Francis of Assisi School and Bishop McDonald Memorial High School. Upon graduation, she attended business school.

She found employment as the secretary to the director of the New York Shipping Association Inc. When NYS merged with the International Longshoremen’s Association to form the NYSA-ILA Contract Board, she was promoted to executive secretary.

She is survived by two nephews, Steven and wife Ronica Turocy and David and wife Deborah Turocy; two great-nieces, Christina and Gabrielle Turocy; a great-great-nephew, Steven Bernhard Jr.; a great-great-niece, Michaela Kortekass; and three cousins, Imre and John Jany and Rosalind and husband Joseph Fruhman.

She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Donald Turocy; an aunt and uncle, Theresa and Joseph Teklits; an aunt and uncle, John and Hilda Zimits; an aunt, Ella Magnits; and other family members in Szentpeterfa, Hungary.
