Laurys Station Community Day

Laurys Station Community Day will be held noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Laurys Station Fire Company, 5314 Egypt Road. The event will feature children’s games, a moon bounce, an obstacle course, craft vendors, a basket raffle, food and refreshments. Music by the Castaway Band is scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Seven Sirens Brewery and Soaked Winery also will participate.

St. John’s UCC

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will resume Sunday school Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. after the summer break. Worship will begin 10:15 a.m. the same day. The church also will host Harvest Home Sept. 20 at 10:15 a.m..

Union Lutheran Church

Union Lutheran Church in Schnecksville will hold its annual Bookfest Sept. 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Family Life Center. The event is free and open to the public. The church also will hold Rally Day at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 13 for children and youth programs.

Union UCC Barbecue Bash

Union United Church of Christ in Neffs will host a Barbecue Bash Sept. 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Food sales begin at 4 p.m. and will include hot dogs, sides, baked goods, ice cream, half-chicken dinners and pulled pork sandwiches. Music from the 1960s and 1970s will be provided by Time Whys. The church will resume its 8 a.m. worship service Sept. 13. Education Hour returns Sept. 20 at 9:15 a.m., followed by Children’s Church during the 10:30 a.m. service.
