September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you don’t have a library card, stop in and register; it only takes a few minutes. Just bring in your driver’s license or other form of ID with your current address.

Library cards are free and may be used at 12 other libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.

New sign-ups will get a special prize, while supplies last!

Storytime and craft is set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 11 and 25. Registration is not required.

We will be showing “Panda Bear in Africa” Sept. 12 and “The Brave Little Toaster” Sept. 26. Movies start 11 a.m.

The Vince’s Cheesesteaks food truck will be at Coplay Parkway, Second and Keefer streets, 2-7 p.m. Sept. 17 for a library fundraiser.

We are having a special program featuring a puppeteer 11 a.m.-noon Sept. 19. The titles for the puppet show are “Don’t Be a Bully, You Chicken” and “The Goat in the Chili Pepper Patch.”

A Giant mobile vaccine clinic — offering flu and COVID vaccines — will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 22. No registration is required.

There will be a form to fill out when you arrive. Bring Medicare, medical and prescription cards.

Mark your calendar for the library’s fall book and bake sale. It will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3.

The library will be holding a 50/50 raffle. The drawing will be held noon Oct. 3.

Shopping passes for Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends fundraising event are here. You will enjoy a discount of up to 25% on in-store purchases 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Oct. 21 and a chance to win a Boscov’s gift card.

The passes cost $5, and 100% of this donation goes to the library.

Join our Fiber Arts and Friends Circle group meeting 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays. Learn to crochet, work on a current needlecraft project or just get advice from our more experienced crafters.

We have extra yarn and knitting/crochet needles for you to use if needed.

We are accepting eyeglasses and hearing aids (in Ziploc bags) for Whitehall Lions Club. Place them in the marked box.

The club does not need eyeglass cases.

It’s never too early to start reading to your child. Sign your child up for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Read any book to your newborn, infant and/or toddler. Keep track of the titles of the books on our convenient reading log sheets or any other method you choose. When patrons reach 50, and then for each 100 books, they will get an award.

There is no time limit to the program, and more than one child can participate.
