Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Aug. 30 for its hoagie sale. Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie. Parkland Trojan Alumni Varsity Club will be meeting 6 p.m. at the HOPS-Fogelsville Hotel, 7921 Main St., Fogelsville. Speakers will be Barry and Marcy Doble, from Josh Early Candies. All are invited. Cost of dinner will be $15 per person.

Emmaus Garden Club meeting will be held at noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. Program will be Wickedly Wonderful: The World of Carnivorous Plants. Join Brandon Everett for a fascinating journey into the world of carnivorous plants found in Pennsylvania and across North America. Learn how these extraordinary plants evolved to capture their prey, discover the life stories of several native species, and pick up tips on how to grow them successfully at home. The Macungie Band is excited to announce its annual Barbecue and Beats dinner and concert 4 p.m. at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5130 Snowdrift Road, Orefield. Director Michael Moran has chosen A Celebration of American Music as the theme, in keeping with this summer’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday. There is close parking and no steps into the church’s Family Center at the rear of the red brick building. Catered by Country View Meats of Danielsville, the meal will include roasted pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, roasted potatoes, and a variety of desserts and beverages. It will be served cafeteria-style beginning at 4 p.m., when the concert starts, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to choose their preferred table. Lace up your sneakers and join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley for the 17th annual Ready, Set, GOLD 5K Walk, 8K Run and Kids’ Fun Run, presented by Heavy and Highway Construction Laborers’ Local 158. Join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley at the Ironton Rail Trail for a morning of fitness, family fun, and community — all while making a meaningful difference for local kids with cancer and their families. Enjoy food, music, raffles, superhero fun, and more. Every registration helps PCFLV provide critical support, joyful programs, and lasting memories for families in the Lehigh Valley facing pediatric cancer. The 8K Run will start at 8:30 a.m. The 5K Walk will start at 9 a.m. and the Fun Run/Obstacle Course for kids 12 and under starts at 10:30 a.m.

Wildlands Conservancy – Monarch Tagging and Meadow Exploration will be held 10 a.m. to noon at Trexler Nature Preserve- Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Explore vibrant meadow habitats while learning about monarch butterfly populations in the Lehigh Valley, led by the senior restoration ecologist and a Wildlands environmental educator. Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will hold its annual fall picnic 4-8 p.m. There will be live music by Midnight Special from 5-8 p.m. They will also have great food, baked goods, basket raffle and a cake walk. The rain date is 2-6 p.m. Sept. 27.

Oct. 22

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for its Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue. The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll. They will also be selling apple dumpling with or without syrup. Pickup will take place 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31.
