Drug arrest
A 34-year-old male motorist, of Easton, was charged with alleged possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, displaying a fraudulent inspection sticker and driving while his license was suspended for driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 500 block of Norway Place in Fountain Hill after he was seen traveling through Salisbury Township with a fraudulent inspection sticker on his vehicle Aug. 6, according to Salisbury police. During the traffic stop, officers found the driver allegedly was in possession of marijuana, scales and rolling papers.
Theft arrests
A 34-year-old man, of Easton, was charged Aug. 7 with theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property after he allegedly took a U-Haul truck belonging to a family member in the 700 block of Gottwald Drive, according to Salisbury police. The vehicle was not his and contained approximately $1,300 worth of property, according to authorities.
A 58-year-old woman, of Allentown, was charged Aug. 8 with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked following an investigation in which she was identified as a person who allegedly entered retailer Ross Dress for Less, South Mall, 3300 Lehigh St., took an employee’s purse and wallet and then left the store, according to Salisbury police.
A 19-year-old male, of Allentown, was charged Aug. 9 with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, access device fraud and driving without a license, according to Salisbury police. The charges stem from an incident at Lehigh Valley Hospital, South Cedar Crest Boulevard, in which the teen allegedly took his girlfriend’s vehicle without her permission, did not return it and later used her debit card to withdraw $350 in cash, according to authorities.
Fleeing police
Officers attempted to stop a 24-year-old person, of Allentown, who was seen operating a moped without a registration plate in the 1100 block of East Susquehanna Street Aug. 9, according to Salisbury police. The driver allegedly fled the attempted traffic stop, traveling through local side streets and across residents’ yards to evade police. He was later identified and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and without registration and a driver’s license violation, according to authorities.
DUI
Officers stopped a 25-year-old female motorist, of Allentown, in the 1100 block of East Susquehanna Street for a motor vehicle code violation Aug. 6, according to Salisbury police. She was then arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, according to authorities.
A 20-year-old male motorist, of Dover, York County, was arrested Aug. 7 for suspicion of driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint in the 1600 block of Broadway, according to Salisbury police.
A 39-year-old female motorist, of Bethlehem, was arrested Aug. 8 for suspicion of driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint in the 1600 block of Broadway, according to Salisbury police.
A 22-year-old male motorist, of Laurys Station, was arrested Aug. 8 for suspicion of driving under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint in the 1600 block of Broadway, according to Salisbury police.

Wanted person
A 39-year-old male motorist, of Bethlehem, was taken into custody Aug. 11 after a traffic stop in the area of East Susquehanna Street near Cumberland Street, according to Salisbury police. During the stop, officers learned the motorist had active arrest warrants from Whitehall Township and Northampton County.
Unwanted person
Officers were called to a residence in the 800 block of College Lane for a report of an unwanted person there Aug. 10, according to Salisbury police. The person left the residence before police arrived, according to authorities.
Stolen motorcycles
A resident of the 1100 block of Lehigh Avenue discovered two motorcycles were taken from their driveway, according to Salisbury police. One motorcycle was recovered approximately one mile away the same day. The theft was reported Aug. 12, according to authorities.
Stolen trailer
A 48-foot trailer was removed from a business in the 1700 block of Riverside Drive, according to Salisbury police. The theft was reported Aug. 12.
Fraud
Someone swindled a Lehigh Avenue resident out of $30,000 in a phone scam Aug. 7, according to Salisbury police. “All but $8,600 of the stolen funds were recovered,” according to authorities.
Someone swindled a South 24th Street resident out of $5,000 after persuading the resident into “making an online payment for a service that did not exist,” according to Salisbury police. STPD reminds residents phone and online scams are very common and cautions anyone against sending money, gift cards or anything of value to strangers.
Lewd acts
Officers responded to the parking lot of 1251 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. Aug. 4 for a report of two people inside a vehicle “engaging in inappropriate conduct,” according to Salisbury police. Officers checked the area, but the vehicle had left.
Protection from abuse order violation
A 41-year-old female, of Salisbury Township, was arrested and charged with indirect criminal contempt for allegedly violating a Protection from Abuse order after police were called to a residence in the 400 block of East Federal Street Aug. 9, according to Salisbury police.
Disturbances
Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence along White Oak Lane Aug. 5, according to Salisbury police.
Officers were called to a disturbance at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus, involving a patient who became upset after being told he could not go outside Aug. 5, according to Salisbury police.
Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 800 block of East Susquehanna Street involving a dispute over property Aug. 7, according to Salisbury police.
Officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 3100 block of Club Drive Aug. 7, according to Salisbury police.
Mutual assist
Salisbury Township officers were requested to respond to a residence in the 1000 block of South Armour Street in Allentown City Aug. 9, according to Salisbury police.
Criminal mischief
A ticket booth at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., was damaged, according to Salisbury police. The damage was reported Aug. 5 and surveillance footage is being reviewed, according to authorities.
Harassment
A Voortman Avenue resident reported receiving harassing text messages Aug. 6, according to Salisbury police. The case is currently under investigation.
A Victoria Circle resident reported being harassed online Aug. 7, according to Salisbury police.
Traffic safety
On Aug. 11 and Aug. 12, officers responded to two crashes involving juveniles operating electric bicycles and electric scooters. In both incidents, the cause of the crash was determined to be the juvenile operators not stopping for posted stop signs. “The department urges parents to closely monitor their children’s use of these devices and to ensure they understand the laws and safety requirements before allowing them to operate them” authorities said in a press release.
Sobriety checkpoint
On Aug. 7, the Salisbury Township Police Department and the Lehigh County DUI Task Force conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the 1600 block of Broadway. Several motor vehicle code violations were issued and five DUI arrests were made.
