Myrtle “Tootie” S. Haydt, 101, of Palmerton, died Aug. 7, 2026, at Legend of Allentown, Macungie. She was the wife of the late Vernon D. Haydt.

Born in Palmerton, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Green) Jones.

She was a sewing machine operator by trade, working primarily at Natalie’s Fashions in Palmerton.

She was an accomplished quilter and was part of a quilt circle at St John’s United Church of Christ, Palmerton. She was also a crochet enthusiast and an embroidery artist.

She attended Faith Alive Church, Bowmanstown.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith and husband Donald Schwartz of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Patricia and husband Rhett Hernandez of Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren, Karen and husband Gene Durigan of Lehighton, Matthew and wife Jenn of New Hope, Sarah and husband Rob Zolla of San Antonio, Texas, and Mark Hernandez; five great-grandchildren, Larissa, Natalie, Eva, Tyson and Leo; a special niece, Jerry; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two great-grandsons, Gus and Hank; two sisters, Melba and Lenora; and five brothers, William, David, Landis, Clifford and Thomas.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Contributions may be made to charity of one’s choice.
