The 2026 summer reading program — Unearth a Story — is almost over.

Bring in your completed folders to earn raffle tickets for gift baskets by 5 p.m. Aug. 14. Drawing for the baskets will be Aug. 15.

You also still have time to participate in our adult/family passport program. This program encourages adult patrons and families to visit other LCLC libraries. You can win a special passport basket at our library. If you visit six libraries, you will be entered into a grand-prize drawing for an iPad.

Storytime and craft is set for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 14 and 28 and then Sept. 11 and 25. Registration is not required.

We will be showing the last “Dinosaur Train” movie 11 a.m. Aug. 15 as part of the summer reading program.

The library will show “Monster High: The Movie” Aug. 22 and “Monsters University” Aug. 29.

Stop by for the teen and adult coloring group 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Registration is not required.

Join our Fabric Arts and Friends group meeting 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays. Learn to crochet, work on a current needle work project or just get advice from our more experienced crafters. We have extra yarn and knitting/crochet needles for you to use if needed.

Mark your calendar for the library’s fall book and bake sale. It will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 2 and 3.

Shopping passes for Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends fundraising event are here.

You will enjoy a discount of up to 25% on in-store purchases and a chance to win a Boscov’s gift card 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Oct. 21.

The passes cost $5, and 100% of this donation goes to the library.

It’s never too early to start reading to your child. Sign your child up for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Read any book to your newborn, infant and/or toddler. Keep track of the titles of the books on our convenient reading log sheets or any other method you choose. When patrons reach 50, and then for each 100 books, they will get an award.

There is no time limit to the program, and more than one child can participate.

Need ideas for a summer vacation or adventure? Stop in the library and browse our selection of up-to-date brochures for Pennsylvania and other northeastern and mid-Atlantic states.

We have fiction and nonfiction, biography, children and young adult books for sale all year. We also have DVDs, CDs and puzzles.

Look for them on the shelves under the circulation desk and on the sale cart. Ask if you need assistance.

The library is accepting donations of books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records and puzzles. See the donations policy on the website or call the library.

For your safety, drop donations off at the circulation desk during open hours. Do not leave donations at the front door.

If you need to use a computer to search for information or print something, we have six computers for you to use. The library also has a fax machine and copier for public use. You just need to show your library card at the front desk when you come into the library.

If you do not have a library card, it only takes a few minutes to get one. All you need is a form of ID, like a driver’s license. Library cards are free and may be used at 12 libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.

The library is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
