In a first-round matchup of the 2026 Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack league playoffs, two rivals were matched up against each other as seventh seed North Parkland hosted 10th seed South Parkland this past Monday at Orefield Middle School.
The Trojans got the better of the Buffaloes in all facets as they not-hit them in a shut out win, 7-0, to advance to the double elimination portion of the tournament, which goes down to eight teams.
After two scoreless innings to start the game, South Parkland put up four runs in the top of the third inning and then added two more in the fourth, before tacking on a final one in the top of the seventh. The Trojans finished with six hits, but the highlight from their end was starting pitcher Brooks Wetherhold, who threw a complete-game shutout, not giving up a hit, striking out 13 batters, while walking three.
Quentin Velez and Nolan Kishbaugh combined to throw the seven innings for North Parkland, which finished the year with a 12-6 overall record. Kishbaugh, Mason Vargas and Zane Whittaker each worked a walk for the Buffaloes.
