Edward J. Kametz Sr., 91, of Whitehall, died Aug. 2, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Mary D. (Polaha) Kametz for 57 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Mitala) Kametz.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army during peace time.

He was employed for more than 43 years at Bethlehem Steel before retiring from the payroll department. In addition, he worked as a roofer at Pleasant Valley Roofing Company.

He was a longtime member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a lifetime member of Roosevelt Democratic Club in Bethlehem.

He is survived by three sons, Kevin and wife Kim of Wescoesville, John J. and wife Brenda of Bethlehem and Edward J. and wife Sheri of Hellertown; five grandchildren, Danielle, Nichole, Joshua, Jeremy and Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Jason, Jordan, Natalie and Ava.

He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Bernie; and a sister, Elizabeth.

There will be a calling time 8:30-9:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at the funeral home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. at the church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay, 18037.
