Mama’s Musings

Well, surprise surprise. There were large prepays attached to my medical tests. So I canceled them. No worries. I have been working hard these last few weeks, and I should be able to afford them soon. Just not now.

On a happier front, physical therapy is helping. I have more mobility on my right hand. It isn’t perfectly normal yet, but I feel more confident that I will get there. Like many things, it’s a process.

Now to what I’m dreading. Car inspection. Funny, it will happen right after a doctor’s appointment. I am trying to mitigate the dread with the knowledge that my next three day job checks should be very good.

We have a short vacation planned. I may need to rent a car for that. We’ll see.

The other thing I am slightly wary of is the appointment to visit my youngest son’s new school.

My youngest just finished two weeks at Camp Touchstone. It is always fun. The plays this year were funny. It’s hard to believe that next year he will be in teen camp. Time marches on.

I need to talk to my sister. That’s another dread. But my niece is going to college this fall. I’m proud of her. Five years down the road will be my youngest’s turn. Wow.

I let my youngest walk to camp in the mornings, via the Greenway. Why the Greenway? Less traffic, and triple wide crosswalks. It was a good decision. He didn’t see many vehicles. Is he ready to walk all over the place? Nope. ADHD makes it difficult. But it was a good start. His father went incommunicado for several days. He said he was busy. Yeah. He owed me money, and my youngest left his good sneakers at his dad’s. He didn’t realize this until he was getting ready for camp. Unfortunately, he outgrew the backup pair, and wouldn’t wear swim shoes or boots to camp. So his missed a day. Ugh. His older brother paid for new shoes. I went out and got them after work. Thankfully, the new shoes fit. Did my ex offer to bring the left behind shoes to him? Heck no. He was too “busy.” Thankfully, not all guys suck. I have wonderful sons.
