Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post) is accepting orders for their hoagie sale. Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie. Ingredients supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport. Hoagie pickup will take place 4-6 p.m. Aug. 11. To order, call Marilyn at 610-395-6885.

Aug. 4

Parkland Trojan Alumni Varsity Club will be meeting 6 p.m. at the HOPS-Fogelsville, Hotel, 7921 Main St., Fogelsville. Speaker will be Scott Trumbauer, Parkland School District boys varsity volleyball coach. All are invited to attend. There is a cost per person for the dinner.

Aug. 19

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post) will be having a special presentation “Summer Of 1776: Overturning The Pennsylvania Government On The Road To Independence” with highlights about Lowhill Township by David Hunsicker Jr. for the Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society at 6:30 p.m. Hunsicker is the second vice president for the Valley Forge Chapter of the Sons of The American Revolution and will be speaking at other events in the Lehigh Valley.

Parkland Art League artists are holding a “Pop Up” Art Show and Sale, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Kalmbach Memorial Park, 200 Cotton St., Macungie.

Sept. 13

The Macungie Band is excited to announce its annual Barbecue and Beats dinner and concert at 4 p.m. at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5130 Snowdrift Road, Orefield. Director Michael Moran has chosen A Celebration of American Music as the theme, in keeping with this summer’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday. There is close parking and there are no steps into the church’s Family Center at the rear of the red brick building. Catered by Country View Meats of Danielsville, the meal will include roasted pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, roasted potatoes, and a variety of desserts and beverages and be served cafeteria style at 4 p.m. when the concert begins, so come early to choose your favorite table. Tickets must be purchased in advance at https://www.macungieband.com/events/bbq-beats-2026-macungie-band and purchase your tickets using PayPal. No credit cards will be accepted. Online sales will end at 5 p.m. Sept. 8. Option 2 send a check payable to Macungie Band to Macungie Band, P.O. Box 201, Macungie, PA, 18062. Include your name, address, and the number of tickets you need and the tickets will be mailed to you. We must receive your order also by Sept. 8.

Lace up your sneakers and join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley for the 17th annual Ready, Set, GOLD 5K Walk, 8K Run & Kids’ Fun Run, presented by Heavy and Highway Construction Laborers’ Local 158. Join the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley at the Ironton Rail Trail for a morning of fitness, family fun, and community — all while making a meaningful difference for local kids with cancer and their families. Enjoy food, music, raffles, superhero fun, and more. Every registration helps PCFLV provide critical support, joyful programs, and lasting memories for families in the Lehigh Valley facing pediatric cancer. The 8K Run starts at 8:30 a.m. The 5K Walk will start at 9 a.m. and the Fun Run/Obstacle Course for kids 12 and under starts at 10:30 a.m. All participants who are registered by Aug. 15 will receive an event T-shirt and a goody bag.
