Aug. 2

Wildlands Conservancy — Wildlife Meet and Greet — 10 a.m. to noon at Louise Moore Park, 151 Country Club Road, Easton. After meeting our animal ambassadors, enjoy a guided hike, where to explore native wildflowers, observe pollinator habitats and look for wildlife in their natural environment while discussing conservation efforts and seasonal blooms. Aug. 4

Wildlands Conservancy — PreK Pathfinders: Creek Explorers at Trexler Nature Preserve @ The Ford — 10 to 11 a.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve at the Ford: Participants will follow signs past the Lehigh Valley Zoo to the parking lot across the Jordan Creek, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, to meet. The program is designed for children ages 3-5 and their grown-ups. Participants will learn about the world of creeks through exploration and discovery, look for small stream creatures and learn how creeks support plants and wildlife. The event is free. Aug. 5

Wildlands Conservancy — Poetry in the Park — 10 a.m. to noon at Hugh Moore Park, 2750 Hugh Moore Park Road, Easton, 18042. Join other poetry enthusiasts for a relaxing Poetry in the Park program where participants can read, write, or simply listen to poetry inspired by the natural world that encourages reflection, connection and expression. Aug. 7

Wildlands Conservancy — Native vs. Invasive Species Identification Walk — 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Franko Park, 1339 Black River Road, Allentown. Manager of Preserved Lands Michael Hock Sr. will lead a guided walk at Black River Sanctuary where participants will learn to identify native and invasive plant species and learn how these plants impact local ecosystems. Aug. 14

Wildlands Conservancy — River Snorkeling! — 10 a.m. to noon at Canal Street Park, 1400 Canal St., Northampton. Participants will explore by snorkeling beneath the surface of the Lehigh River. This guided river experience invites participants to discover the hidden world of macroinvertebrates, fish and aquatic habitats while learning what these organisms reveal about water quality and river health. Aug. 22

Wildlands Conservancy — Bioluminescent Critters of the Night Hike — 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Louise Moore Park, 151 Country Club Road, Easton. Step into the darkness with black lights (provided) and discover a hidden world that glows! Participants will follow an easy 1-2 mile guided night hike while searching for bioluminescent and fluorescent critters that come alive after sunset. Wildlands Conservancy — Pre-K Pathfinders: Little Excavators at Wayne Grube Park — 10-11 a.m. at Wayne A. Grube Park, 1200 Willowbrook Road, Northampton. The program is designed for children aged 3-5 and their grown-ups. Join Munch the Turtle on an exciting archaeological dig where kids and their caregivers become detectives of the past. Wildlands Conservancy — Wild Mushroom Foray — 10 a.m. to noon at Leaser Lake- South Entrance, 8502 Pleasure Court, Kempton. The program is entitled” Wild Mushroom Foray” and will be led by Wildlands Conservancy’s Veronica Rosenberger.
