Several local organizations recently received funding as part of the Harry C. Trexler Trust’s record-setting 2026 grant cycle, which awarded more than $6.3 million to Lehigh County nonprofits and the city of Allentown. Awards include $15,000 each to Whitehall Township Public Library, Coplay Public Library, Public Library of Catasauqua and Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative. Other library funding includes Allentown Public Library operating expenses, $75,000; Emmaus Public Library, $25,000; and Slatington Public Library, $20,000.

The trustees of Harry C. Trexler Trust awarded 93 grants totaling a record $6,314,025 to 84 Lehigh County nonprofit organizations and the city of Allentown. Funding for food organizations include Allentown Area Ecumenical Food Bank operating expenses, $105,000; Animal Food Bank Services, $5,000 for moving expenses and $5,000 for operating expenses; Everlasting Life Ministries food pantry, $35,000; Meals on Wheels, $50,000; Community Action Development Corporation, $15,000 for organic food program and $35,000 for Sixth Street Shelter services; Essentials Cafe operating expenses, $8,000; and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, $10,000, for food pantry expenses.

Funding for arts, music and theater includes Allentown Art Museum, $175,000 for operating support and a $250,000 new museum construction pledge payment; Baum School of Art, $27,550 for City Arts Camp, $100,000 for a building expansion pledge payment and $100,000 for operating expenses; Allentown Band operating expenses, $5,000; Allentown Symphony Association, $10,000 for Rodale Room lighting and $60,000 for operating expenses; Allentown Public Theatre backstage theater arts program, $7,500; Civic Theatre of Allentown operating expenses, $30,000; Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, $20,000; and Emmaus Creative Arts and Innovation Center, $10,000.

Additional recipients include Allentown Academy of the Arts Alliance for art billboards in the halls of William Allen High School, $6,000; Allentown School District Foundation Teacher Innovation Grants, $30,000; Casa Guadalupe Center education program, $90,000; Cedar Crest College scholarship pledge payment, $25,000; Communities in Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania operating and program expenses, $100,000; Community Music School operating expenses, $35,000; Allentown Parknership operating expenses, $300,000; Community Bike Works, $80,000 for operating expenses and $100,000 for Franklin Park Youth Bike Hub; city of Allentown parks improvement and maintenance, $2,104,675; Northern Lehigh Recreation Authority, $10,000; Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley youth mentoring support, $18,000; Boys and Girls Club of Allentown, $30,000 for Cumberland Gardens support and $60,000 for operating expenses; Camelot for Children summer camp, $3,000; Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center operating expenses, $30,000; Cancer Support Community programs and services, $3,000; Century Promise program expenses, $10,000; Community Services for Children bus safety equipment, $35,000; Da Vinci Discovery Center, $25,000 for operating expenses and $75,000 for budget assistance; Emmaus Historical Society, $5,000; Family Promise, $20,000; Girls on the Run, $7,500; Grace Community Foundation, $40,000; Habitat for Humanity LV, $90,000; Jewish Community Center, $100,000; Lehigh Conference of Churches, $180,000; Literacy Center, $87,000; Pinebrook Family Answers, $100,000; Planned Parenthood Keystone, $30,000; Promise Neighborhoods, $30,000; Salvation Army, $175,000; Via of the Lehigh Valley, $100,000; Wildlands Conservancy, $50,000; Wildlife Information Center, $30,000; and YWCA, $75,000.
