David M. Rider

of Bethlehem

David M. Rider, 59, of Bethlehem, died July 18, 2026. He was the husband of Amie J. (Hammerly) Rider for six years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frank P. and Marilyn H. (Michaels) Rider.

He graduated from Liberty High School in 1985 and went on to earn a degree in design and drafting from Lincoln Technical Institute in 1987.

He built a successful career as a new product development designer with EMD Electronics. He worked at Hawk Music Store and later combined his love of music with his technical talents as a sound engineer and band manager for several local bands.

He and his wife volunteered with veteran organizations, including Camp Freedom, Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon and the Valor Clinic.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Dylan; a daughter, Amanda L. Huntsman and husband Tyler; a grandson, Bentley; and an expected granddaughter.

There will be a calling time 2-4 p.m., with a thoughtful message presented 4 p.m., July 23 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall.
