Hurricanes A second in summer soccer
Liberty has two soccer teams in the Lehigh Valley Summer Soccer League at Lehigh and both have taken different paths through the early portion of the 2026 season.
Hurricanes A (5-1), which is predominantly made up of varsity players, rebounded from an opening 3-0 loss to New Tripoli Bank (Northwestern) and quickly turned its season around, riding a five-game winning streak with wins over Roughies, Phillipsburg, Hurricanes B, FC Tribe and Palisades.
Hurricanes B, meanwhile, has faced a difficult stretch against a challenging schedule. The group of young underclassmen has battled through several early setbacks, including losses to top opponents and a shutout defeat in the first matchup between the two Hurricanes squads. The team has shown signs of progress, including a 3-1 win over the Roughies on Monday, and sit at 1-4-1 start, which also includes a 1-1 draw against New Tripoli Bank.
This week’s action has Hurricanes A playing FC Gore and big showdown against Hornets (Emmaus) on Wednesday in a battle between two of the top teams in the standings.
Hurricanes B take on FC Gore on Wednesday.
