Lynn L. (Henninger) Whitaker, 77, of Emmaus, died June 10, 2026, at her residence. Born in Allentown, was the daughter of the late William H. and Alice J. (Guy) Henninger. She was the wife of the late Stanley A. Whitaker Jr. who died in February after 45 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of Wyomissing Area HS in 1967, Muhlenberg College in 1971 and earned her master of education degree from Lehigh University in 1977.
Lynn was a first grade elementary school teacher in the East Penn School District (Wescosville ES) for 31 years before retiring in 2004. Lynn found great joy in quilting, working on puzzles and reading. She was also a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team.
She was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, Allentown.
She is survived by stepchildren; Angela M. Itterly (James) of Macungie, Andrew W. Whitaker (Kimberly) of Macedon, NY; siblings, Gretchen H. Krasley of Allentown, W. Guy Henninger (Allison) of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Jared Itterly, Marissa Itterly, Emily Whitaker, Lance Corporal Darien Whitaker; brother-in-law, Milton N. Whitaker (Linda) of Orefield; nieces and nephews.
