Northampton: Local AARP group plans picnic
Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will hold its annual picnic 10 a.m. June 10. Lunch will be served noon.
Attendees should bring a dessert to share, and all attendees must have a ticket.

Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, 1324 Newport Ave., will hold its festival June 14.
Bring your family, friends, neighbors and your appetite for a full day of delicious homemade food, live entertainment, games, raffles, music and community fun.
Enjoy crowd favorites like pierogies, cabbage and noodles, potato pancakes, langos, turkey barbecue, sausage sandwiches, pizza, funnel cake fries, ice cream, slushies, beer, wine and more.
The live entertainment will feature the Dave Betz Polka Band 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and Flirtin’ with the Mob 4-7:45 p.m. Other special attractions include Balloons by Robin 2-4 p.m. and Kandi’s Karicatures 3-7 p.m. There will be a bake sale, basket raffle, cash raffle and a special appearance by IronPigs’ FeRROUS.

Paw Prints on the Canal is scheduled for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. June 14 at Canal Street Park. The event is a fundraiser that benefits Northampton Borough Police Department’s K-9 unit.
There will be a variety of vendors, refreshments, a microchip/rabies clinic, deejay, bake sale, ice cream sale, a pet contest, raffles, 50/50 and plenty of dogs.
