Coplay Public Library: Library seeks new part-time assistant

The Coplay Public Library is looking to hire a part-time library assistant for approximately 13-15 hours per week. The candidate must be proficient in computer and written and oral communications skills, possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, be detail-oriented and work independently and with others.

The candidate must provide a Pennsylvania criminal record check and child abuse clearance and an FBI criminal background check.

Enjoy dinner 4-7 p.m. June 7 at Samuel Owens Restaurant and Bar, 128 Chestnut St., Coplay, and the restaurant will donate 10% of dine-in checks to the library. Mention the library when you order.

Preschool storytime and craft is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. June 12 and 26. Registration is not required.

Saturday movies continue with “The Land Before Time” June 13 and “The Good Dinosaur” June 20. The movies start 11 a.m.

Bring your own snacks.

The library’s summer hours start June 15.

It will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

The 2026 summer reading program is almost here! Registration for this year’s program — Unearth a Story — began June 1.

Forms are available on the library’s website, coplaypl.org, or at the library. The program starts June 22.

You will receive a welcome pack with the program details when you bring a completed registration form to the library. Special programs for children and adults are planned. We will also be showing dinosaur movies Saturdays.

Earn tickets toward gift baskets by logging your reading, participating in activities and attending programs.

The library is collecting food and toiletry items for the Snack Pack Pals program. These items are sent home over long weekends with students in grades K-12 who have severe hunger needs.

We are collecting donations until the end of July.

Need ideas for a summer vacation or adventure? Stop in the library and browse our selection of up-to-date brochures for Pennsylvania and other northeastern and mid-Atlantic states.

Add some items to your summer to-be-read list by shopping at the library. Check out our selection of fiction and nonfiction books for sale. We also have CDs, DVDs and puzzles.

Look for them on the shelves under the circulation desk and on the sale cart. Ask if you need assistance.

The library is accepting books, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records and puzzles for the fall sale. See the donations policy on the website or call the library.

For your safety, drop donations off at the circulation desk during open hours. Do not leave donations at the front door.

The library’s hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
