EHS names Student of the Week
Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. My parents’ names are Arnoll and Shirlynn and my siblings’ names are Angelo and Alissa. I have a dog named Apollo.
Q. As a senior, did you have any specific goals you wanted to pursue this academic year?
A. As a senior, I wanted to maintain my grades and stay on top of my schoolwork.
Q. What is your favorite class at Emmaus High School? Why?
A. My favorite class has been AP U.S. Government because I loved learning about the court cases and laws that have shaped our country today.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. Yes, I have received AP Scholar with Honor award and I have also won Eastern Pennsylvania Conference District 11 and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. 3A Championship titles with my Emmaus field hockey team.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?
A. I am involved in the Emmaus field hockey program which has taught me resilience and determination toward my goals in life. I am also in Morgan’s Message to advocate for student-athlete mental health and Hacky Sack Club which has been an important part of my high school experience.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge is giving myself leniency for mistakes and remembering that every mistake is a learning experience.
Q. At this time, what are your plans for the future beyond high school?
A. I am pursuing economics at Old Dominion University while also playing Division 1 field hockey. After college, I plan to go to law school to become a lawyer.
Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with an historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?
A. I would choose to converse with Ruth Bader Ginsburg because of her influence in women’s rights and civil rights in America.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered for my character and genuineness rather than my achievements.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. I would recommend staying involved in high school with extracurriculars.
