The Lehigh Valley Dart Baseball championship took place recently with Fritz Wesleyan of the Inter-Church League defeating Star of Bethlehem from the Suburban League, three games to zero.
Fritz won the first game 1-0 thanks to a 9th inning run. Doubles by Ed Weller and Blair Weller produced the only run of the game.
Fritz won game two 9-0. A three-run second paved the way as Dave Shannon tripled, Jason Rehm doubled, as did Tyler Mastropieri and Jack Rohal. They scored three more in the third with a Blair Weller single, a Shannon double, a Rehm single, a Jake Cole bunt and a Mastropieri double. Fritz added three more in the seventh thanks to a Jacob Weller double, Bryan Weller double, Blair Weller double, Shannon single and a Cole double.
Fritz completed the sweep with a 4-3 win in game three. Star would get on the board first with three runs. Scott Hoffert had a bunt, Tyler Frankenfield singled and Kyle Taylor doubled. Bill Hoke Jr. doubled and Walt Hoffert singled.
Fritz would cut it to 3-2 with two in the third. Rohal had a bunt hit, Jacob Weller doubled and Blair Weller doubled both home.
Fritz would tied it at 3-3 in the sixth. Blair Weller doubled and Shannon doubled as well.
Fritz took the lead in the top of the ninth. Rehm doubled and Cole singled. Rohal doubled a run home to take the 4-3 advantage to eventually win the game.
