ACCHS receives Freddy nominations
May has been a very busy month so far for students at Allentown Central Catholic High School.
The month began with the ACCHS concert and jazz bands hosting the annual side-by-side music day, welcoming partner school students to perform alongside Central students. The mini Vike performers learned four songs and put on a fantastic performance at the end of the day for family and friends.
ACCHS’s theater department also received recognition with several Freddy nominations for this year’s spring musical, “Disney’s Frozen.” The production earned nominations for Outstanding Overall Production by a Smaller School and Outstanding Technical Design by a Smaller School. Briana Bauer and Ella Mackey were also recognized for their incredible performances. Members of the theater program were also honored to perform at Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools in Philadelphia May 8. Way to go Vikes!
The Viking baseball team volunteered at the Miracle League, an all-inclusive baseball organization for children with disabilities in the Lehigh Valley. Players each partnered up with a kid and helped create a fun, inspiring and supportive experience for everyone involved.
On May 12, 42 female students traveled to Mendham, N.J. to visit the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Christian Charity. They spent the day there attending Mass, participating in adoration, touring the postulant and spending time with the sisters. It was a great retreat centered on the theme of “loving with a maternal heart.”
Our Vikings for Gold spent time this week making summer buckets for Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.
ACCHS boys lacrosse defeated Easton May 12 to win the program’s first Eastern Pennsylvania Conference title since 2022. Congrats Vikings on a well deserved win!
Students had a blast at the ACCHS prom May 9 at DeSales University.
Looking ahead, ACCHS Vikette volleyball will host a clinic for incoming freshmen May 21-23 and the Class of 2029 Freshman Movie Bonding Night will be May 22 in Masson Hall.
