VFW Post 7293 Memorial Day services will begin 9:30 a.m. May 25 at the Cementon memorial on Main Street. Participants will then travel to Egypt for a 10 a.m. service at the Doughboy statue at Park and South Church streets and a 10:30 a.m. service at the Egypt park memorial at Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive.

The VFW will take part in Whitehall Township’s joint veterans program, including American Legion Post 367, Fullerton; American Legion Jones Quigg Post 739, Hokendauqua; and Whitehall Police Honor Guard, starting 11:30 a.m. at the municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.

The day will end with a program at the VFW Post, 5209 Springmill Road, approximately 1 p.m. after the joint service at the municipal building. The guest speaker will be Rick Scherer, a retired Navy commander.

The Egypt Park Festival, which includes Curt Simmons Day, is set for 11 a.m.-10 p.m. May 30. The event will feature a car show 11 a.m.-5 p.m., entertainment by GirlCrue 2-5 p.m., The Higher Notion 5-6 p.m. and The Aardvarks 7-10 p.m.

There will be a basket raffle, bake sale, refreshments, games and children’s activities.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its current church building June 7.

It will also honor church members who are 2026 high school and college graduates during the 9 a.m. service.

The Castaways will get the party started June 13, followed by GirlCrue June 20. Concerts are 6-9 p.m.

Egypt VFW is sponsoring a bus trip to see the Phillies play the Blue Jays Aug. 8 at Citizens Bank Park. Tickets for this Phillies Alumni Weekend game must be purchased by June 15 at the VFW for cash only or online at vfwpost7293.com/event-details/phillies-game-bus-trip.

Your ticket includes bus transportation to and from the stadium and the ticket to the game.

The bus will leave Egypt VFW 3 p.m. and arrive at the ballpark in plenty of time game starting 6:05 p.m..

The VFW is seeking vendors for its Wine and Craft Fest, planned for noon-4 p.m. Sept. 20.
