Mary G. Shore, 75, of Lower Macungie Township, died April 19, 2026. She was the wife of Dr. Stephen R. Shore.

Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Margaret M. (Carlin) and John A. Gallagher.

She had a successful and acclaimed career in nursing. She planned and designed the open-heart unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital where she was the head nurse for many years. She was involved in nursing research and was the recipient of the Award for Friends of Nursing for Management.

She was instrumental in securing the signage for the Kelly Gallagher Atrium in the cancer center at Lehigh Valley Hospital in honor of her niece.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Amy Devenuto and husband Matt and Marci and husband Tim Snyder; two sons, Daniel and wife Meredeth Rouse and Robert and wife Ariana; four grandchildren, Kayla, Brianna, Talia and Kalev; a sister, Susan Stavros; two brothers, Tom and Jerry and wife Ann; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a niece, Kelly; and a sister-in-law, Sherry.

Services are private.

Contributions may be made to her family to establish a scholarship fund to contribute to the educational journey of well-deserving nursing students.
