Keystone testing for SHS starts May 11

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests have come and gone. Next up is the Keystones for Salisbury High School students taking algebra I, biology and literature.

Algebra testing will be given May 11 and 12, biology May 13 and 14 and literature May 18 and 19. Please ensure that if your student is taking one of these assessments they are present on testing days.

All students testing will be bussed in at normal times, those not testing will be bussed in two and one-half hours later. Please be aware of the schedule changes on these days.

It’s official! The last days of school for the 2025-2026 school year have been announced. June 11, SHS and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1:15 p.m. June 12 will be the last day of school. SHS and SMS will dismiss 10:30 a.m. and SES will dismiss 11:15 a.m. We’re almost there!

SYA will hold a Community Day 1-4 p.m. May 17 at SMS, 3301 Devonshire Road. Eight sports programs will be showcased along with live music, a local author book signing, bake sale and basket raffles! This is a great opportunity to see what SYA offers the Falcon community!

Salisbury Township is proud to again host a free community concert at Franko Farm Park May 30. The AM Radio Tribute Band will perform great music from the 1960s and 1970s 1-4 p.m.

Other upcoming free concert series in the area are available during this summer from both the Allentown Parks and Recreation Department 2026 Summer Concert Series as well as the always amazing Summer Concert Series at the Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, Bethlehem. Those full schedules can be viewed on their respective websites. Free live music is plentiful in our area.

Eastern Salisbury Fire Department is holding an online raffle for an IronPigs Spirit pack that includes two tickets to the game scheduled July 12. There is a cost per tickets.

The prize package includes IronPigs swag, snacks and a gift card for dinner or the clubhouse. Check out their Facebook page, or contact a member for more information on how to purchase a ticket.

The D & L National Heritage Corridor has kicked off the 2026 Get Your Tail on the Trail 165 mile challenge. This fee challenge invites you to explore the trail, whether it’s walking, running, biking or paddling, and to get active while setting personal goals and challenges while learning about the region’s history and landscapes. Jerusalem Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury will hold a bingo May 17. Doors open 1 p.m. and games start 2 p.m. Refreshments will be available and all are welcome.

The annual Miller Memorial Blood Drive in Loving Memory of Wayne Leibensperger Jr. will be held 3-7 p.m. June 2 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury. To make an appointment, call Deana Leibensperger 610-217-3155.

The township recycling centers are again open for yard waste and branches. Franko Farm will be open May 7 and 9 and Devonshire will be open May 13, 16 and 18. Hours continue to be 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturdays.
