District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan has announced Ronald Haberstumpf, 79, of Bethlehem, was sentenced to a state prison sentence on various charges for sexually assaulting a minor.
The offenses happened between 2013 and 2017 at a home in Bethlehem (Lehigh County). The victim was between the ages of 4 and 8 at the time and was known to the defendant.
The charges include Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Child, Unlawful Contact with a Minor – Sexual Offenses, Indecent Assault of a Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Corruption of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above and Endangering the Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense.
Haberstumpf was sentenced to 21 to 47 years in a hearing before Judge James T. Anthony. Haberstumpf will also be required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and was classified as a Sexually Violent Predator. Under the sentence imposed, the 79-year-old Haberstumpf will be 99 years old when he becomes eligible for parole.
