Trojan boys lacrosse routs Freedom, Abington Hts.

The Parkland High School boys lacrosse team won both of its games by wide margins last week.

The Trojans began the week with an East Penn Conference win, 20-3 over Freedom last Tuesday night, March 31, to remain unbeaten in conference competition at 2-0. Parkland followed that up two days later with a 15-8 victory over Abington Heights on Thursday night at Parkland High School.

In the win over the Patriots, the Trojans led 4-2 after the first quarter and outscored Freedom 7-0 in the second quarter to take an 11-2 advantage into the break.

Parkland outscored the Patriots 10-1 in the second half to finish off the game. John Gerancher led the attack with six goals and added three assists and Isaiah Fisher finished with four goals.

Colton Arezzi, Matt Scott and Bailey Wetmore totaled two goals and each of Danny Tapia, Nate Lowrey, Jake Posocco and Van O’Mara found the back of the net once.

Tapia and Breckin Serratore both contributed three assists, Arezzi added two and both Scott and Cash Winn had one. Owen Fehnel finished with six saves in net.

In the nonleague victory against the Comets, the Trojans separated themselves for the win in the first and final periods as they outscored Abington Heights 6-2 in the first quarter and 3-0 in the fourth quarter, as both teams scored three goals in both the second and third quarters.

Arezzi led the scoring with six goals, while Gerancher recorded a hat trick and Wetmore tallied two goals.

Arezzi also dished out a team-high five assists, with Gerancher handing out three and Tapia two. Both Wetmore and Lowrey had an assist each. Fehnel made seven saves for the win.

Parkland, improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
