Parkland boys lacrosse wins four straight games

The Parkland High School boys lacrosse team won both of its games last week as the Trojans extended their win streak to a season-best four games.

The Trojans first defeated Northwestern Lehigh 14-5 last Tuesday, April 14, and then took care of Pleasant Valley 16-3 on Thursday.

In the victory over the Tigers, Parkland got off to a fast start, scoring six of seven first-quarter goals and then outscored Northwestern 3-2 in the second to take a 9-3 lead at halftime. The Trojans put the game away in the third quarter by scoring four of the five goals.

Colton Arezzi and John Gerancher led the attack, both scoring five goals and they combined for five assists. Bailey Wettmore tallied two goals and both Danny Tapia and Matthew Scott found the back of the net once, with Tapia adding an assist. Nate Lowrey and Breckin Serratore both contributed an assist. Owen Fehnel finished with nine saves in net for the win.

In the win over the Bears, the Trojans outscored them 5-0 in the first and 6-0 in the second to go on top 11-0 at halftime and were able to cruise the rest of the way.

Tapia paced the attack with four goals and had an assist. Gerancher and Isaiah Fisher both netted hat tricks with Fisher dishing out two assists. Lowrey and Arezzi both netted twice and the latter added two assists. Scott and Jake Posocco found the back of the net once and Wettmore, Scott and Tommy Schimmer contributed an assist each. Fehnel made nine saves in goal.

Parkland improved to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
