NL earns sweep in season opening T&F meet

The Salisbury track and field teams opened their season last week against Northern Lehigh. Both the Falcons boys (69-65) and girls (78-53) came up short in the season opener last Monday.

Despite having first-place finishers in 11 of the 18 events, including all three relay teams, the Falcons boys found came up four points short of the win. To go along with those three relay wins, Steven Lozada won three individual events (long jump, triple jump and pole vault). Jamanni Cruz (100, 200) was the other Falcon to win multiple events against Northern Lehigh.

Rounding out the Falcons first-place finishers were Dominic Natosi (400), Emerson Juhasz (3200) and Grayson Gnall (shot put).

The Falcon girls took first place in a variety of events. Kacie Kaough (javelin, pole vault) and Annalise Shelly (long jump, high jump) each won two events for the Falcons.

In addition to the 400 and 3200 meter relay teams placing first, Kendra Morgan (100), Kaitlyn Neuhs (800) and Emma Yakaitis (300 hurdles) placed first in running events.
