Falcon girls T&F earns first win of ‘26 season
The Salisbury boys and girls track and field teams both picked up wins over Catasauqua in last week’s Colonial League dual meet. The girls picked up their first win of the season with an 84-60 victory, while the boys improved to .500 at 2-2 with an 82-69 win.
The Falcons had an overall solid showing in the running, throwing and jumping events on the girls side. Kaitlyn Neuhs paced Salisbury in the running events with wins in both the 800- and 1600- meter runs.
Neuhs was one of four Falcons to win multiple events against the Rough Riders. Ellie Schneider was another after winning both the 400-meter dash and pole vault events. Lydia Fogel took care of business in the field events with wins in both the discus and javelin. And Annalise Shelly headlined the jumping events with victories in the long jump and high jump.
Emma Yakaitis (300 hurdles) was the other Falcon to win on the girls side to go along with victories for two of the three relay teams.
The boys featured a number of multiple-event winners as well. Thomas Pojanowski paced Salisbury in the distance running events with wins in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs. Steven Lozada was the top finisher in the triple jump and pole vault.
Rounding out the Falcon winners on the boys side were: Edward Ballek (800-meter run), David Quinones (300-meter hurdles), Keaton Frye (javelin) and Bryan Gonzalez Jr. (high jump). The 3200-meter relay team also crossed the finish line first.
