Coplay: No aerobics class April 23, 28
Get in shape for the summer season. The Coplay aerobics classes now meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.
Note the April 23 and 28 classes have been canceled.
Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.

The West Coplay Maennerchor, 3326 N. Ruch St., Whitehall, will hold an entertainment night 7:30-10:30 p.m. April 25. It will feature Steel Town Blues playing its Chicago-style blues with a high-energy, modern sound.
Mark your calendar: West Coplay Maennerchor has a surf and turf raffle, offering a wide selection of beef, pork, seafood and grilling-related items, 2-4 p.m. June 6. Doors open 1 p.m.
Attendance is not required to win.

West Coplay Maennerchor is open daily. Its mission is “to give members a wholesome diversion from daily tasks, by means of music, sports and social activities.” The club was organized May 5, 1915, by German and Austrian immigrants.

Coplay Garden Club is getting into full swing. The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. April 30 in the social hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is holding Night at the Races May 16 in the social hall. Doors open 5:30 p.m., and races begin 7 p.m.
There is limited seating, and attendees must be 21 or older to be admitted. Tables of eight can be reserved.
Tickets include a voucher for two sandwiches, a bag of chips, coleslaw, baked goods and your choice of beer, wine, soda or water. Outside food is welcome, but no BYOB will be permitted.

Grass only can be dropped off at 1 Bridge St. Friday brush and branch pickup began April 3.
Call the borough office at 610-262-6088 to schedule pickups of sofas, plastic-encased mattresses, chairs, dressers, etc. There is a limit of two per year at no charge.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.
The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Coplay American Legion Post 426 has a special mailbox in front of the Post at 134 S. Second St. Worn-out American flags can be deposited into the mailbox for the Post to properly destroy them.
