Stephen Skrapits
Steph- en Skra- pits, 90, of Northampton, died April 10, 2026, at home. He was the husband of Heidi (Demidont) for 61 years.
Born in Szentpeterfa, Hungary, he was the son of the late Istvan and Johanna (Kurcz) Skrapits. He immigrated to the United States in 1957.
He, along with his brothers and brother-in-law, was the founder of Northampton Concrete Form in 1961 and Skrapits Concrete Company in 1971.
He was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton, where he served in the church choir for more than 60 years.
He was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Sick and Beneficial Society (Hungarian Hall) where he participated in bowling leagues for many years. His claim to fame was to achieve two perfect 300 games. He was also a member of the Ring of Fire Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Jane Pany, Lisa Longenbach and husband Mark, Stephen Jr., Susan Biesecker and fiancé David Hetherington and Thomas and wife Sharon; seven grandchildren, Emily Pursel and husband John, Richard Pany and partner Patrick Onnen, Gabriella Coshland and husband Edward, Julia Donahue and husband James IV, Nicholas Longenbach, Alexander and Imre Biesecker; three great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Sophia and James; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five siblings, Cecilia, Maria, George, Anna and John.
There will be calling times 5-7 p.m. April 16 and 9:15-10:15 a.m. April 17 at the funeral home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. April 17 at the church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton, 18067.
