Mama’s Musings - Happy Easter

Hoping all my readers had a Happy Easter, or whatever spring holiday you celebrate. Signs of spring are everywhere. Daffodils and forsythia bushes are painting the town yellow. Not to be outdone, the trees behind City Hall are blooming pink and white.

Birds are singing all over. People are out walking their dogs more often. I love this. I enjoy dogs.

I had my eye visit recently. I ordered new glasses and got some unpleasant news: I have two tiny cataracts, one in each eye. I was horrified. The doctor’s advice was simple: wear sunglasses outside. I admit, I’ve been bad at this. I wear prescription sunglasses because my eyes were already terrible sans cataracts.

So now I have a routine. I wear my new glasses at home. My old pair stay in a case in my purse for work. The sunglasses stay in the new glasses’ case. When I go out, I put the new glasses in and put on my sunglasses. I have no desire to be any blinder than I already am.

Thankfully, one thing my ex gave my children was his 20-20 vision.

For Easter this year, it’s me and my two boys. So we are going out to breakfast.

Of course, I made arrangements for that. Not two days later, my older son pointed out another place he wanted to try. Maybe for Mother’s Day.

I am grateful to I Break U Fix for repairing my youngest son’s phone. Every time we go out, he has wanted my phone. I use my phone for both of my jobs, and it made me very tense when the youngest had it. My own old phone is being repaired, too, but it is waiting for a part. I just want the photos that are on it. Photos are memories. Memories are priceless.
