Bethlehem Catholic was hoping that this lacrosse season could write a different story for the program.
The Hawks were 1-14 a year ago but return an experienced group this spring. Unfortunately, that hasn’t translated into results, as they are 0-4 on the year.
Beca returns a senior core that includes Aaron Geiger (Midfield, Attack, Defense, LSM); Grady Miletics (Goalie, Defense, LSM); Gavyn Moyer (Midfield, Attack); Kauan Silva (Goalie, Defense, LSM); Parker Tatum (Midfield, Attack, Defense, LSM) and
Peter Vallance (Midfield, Attack, Defense, LSM).
New seniors on the squad are James Fleming (Midfield, Attack);
Gabe Santamaria (Midfield, Attack, Defense, LSM) and Michael Van Slyke (Goalie, Defense, LSM).
“We return a group of experienced varsity players while adding in their young core of new players to start fresh,” said head coach Kody Rivera. “Having a full offseason to work with, and a combination of older, experienced players and a core of younger, eager to learn players, Bethlehem Catholic will look to make a splash in a very challenging league. Like many of the smaller teams in the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem Catholic will not be having a JV team this season which instantly gives any player, especially new players, an opportunity to develop on the Varsity level and get varsity playing time right away. While having small numbers can be tough for a young team, it also gives more opportunity for anyone to step up and play on varsity and develop.”
The Hawks have a quiet week on the docket with just Moravian Academy on this week’s schedule.
