Paper shredding event April 11

Upper Macungie Township will hold a paper shredding event for residents 9-11 a.m. April 11 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road.

The township will host its Yoga Flow program for teens and adults 5-6 p.m. April 7 and 14 in the gymnasium at Jaindl Elementary, 1051 Weilers Road. Yoga Flow features a vinyasa style, linking energetic movement with breath, creating a continuous and flowing practice. This program is suitable for beginners or those wishing to reconnect with their practice.

Participants should bring a yoga mat and water bottle.

Lil Athletics Multi-Sport classes for kids aged 2-6 years old will take place April 9 and 16 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane. Times are 5-5:45 p.m. for kids ages 2-3 years old; 5:55-6:40 p.m. for kids ages 3-4 years old and 6:45-7:30 p.m. for kids ages 5-6 years old. Participants should wear sneakers and comfortable athletic attire.

Parents must remain at all classes. Kids will be introduced to multiple sports in a fun, noncompetitive, instructional program.

Donna Barats will hold a Zumba spring II session 6-7 p.m. Mondays April 27-June 8 in the gymnasium at Jaindl Elementary, 1051 Weilers Road. There will be no class May 25. This six-week Zumba session will improve your cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, and flexibility, all while making friends and having a blast.

Leading Edge Martial Arts, 3239 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown, will hold a free child safety and anti-bullying workshop for Upper Macungie kids ages 5 and older 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 15. Kids aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or their legal guardian on their first visit.

Summer camp registration is open for Upper Macungie residents.

The Upper Macungie Township Summer Camp is an 8-week program running 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday June 15 through Aug. 7.

The traditional camp is for kids ages 6-12. The Teen Takeover camp is for youth ages 13-15.

There will be no camp on June 19 and July 3.

Throughout the day campers will rotate through a schedule of activities ranging from sports, team-building, crafts, scavenger hunts, trivia, science, etc. Campers are responsible for packing their own lunch/snacks.

The summer camp is offered at three different locations. Select the site location that works best for you and your family. Bused field trip registration will be an optional add on offered exclusively to those already registered in the UMT Summer Camp. Limited seats available. There is a cost for the camps.

Helping Hands Youth Group at Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will hold a free community clothing event 9 a.m. to noon April 11. If you would like to donate gently used or new, clean clothing and shoes, bring items to the church lobby 9 a.m. to noon weekdays and Sundays. You can also email ziegelsce@gmail.com to make other arrangements.

Ziegels will host the Macungie Band for a free jazz concert 3-4 p.m. April 12 in the church sanctuary. Doors open 2:30 p.m. No tickets needed.

There will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser Children’s Organ Transplant Association for Lainey 4:15-7 p.m. April 12 at Ziegels Church.

Born 6 weeks early in August 2025, baby Lainey is fighting a big battle. After surgery for a narrowed aorta, she was diagnosed with DCM and heart failure. She now has a Berlin Heart LVAD and is waiting for her hero heart. Dinner includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti, meatballs, salad, breads and desserts. Ziegels Church will hold a yard sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 23. There will be food available for purchase to help raise funds for Wreaths Across America. They will sell baked goods, hot dogs and drinks.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post) will hold its Easter Egg Hunt 11 a.m. April 4. All children are welcome. There will be prizes for each age group. Hot dogs and snacks will be available for purchase.

The church’s “Wheels at the Grove” car show will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9. All vehicles are welcome. Last year they had cars, trucks and tractors. This year they will also have a motorcycle.

All vehicles will be parked in their paved parking lot as space permits.

A small registration donation will be taken. The event is free to visitors and there will be free parking.

They will have a trophy, the pastor prize, basket raffle, baked goods, rumble seat rides and 50/50. Their great cooks will serve breakfast, lunch and this year, free coffee.
