Northampton: Grace United Church of Christ plans services, Easter events

Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., will hold a potluck supper 6 p.m. April 2 in the fellowship hall, followed by a special worship service 7 p.m. in the sanctuary for Maundy Thursday.

A Good Friday worship service will be held 7 p.m. April 3.

Easter Sunday services will be held 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. April 5. A breakfast will be served 9 a.m. Easter morning in the fellowship hall.

The church is also holding an Easter egg hunt 10 a.m. April 4 at the Franklin building playground, followed by a lunch of hot dogs, snacks and beverages at the church.

Sign up for Northampton Area School District’s community education classes.

Coed basketball with Matthew Heisler will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Saturdays April 4, 11, 18 and 25 at Lehigh Elementary School, Walnutport.

Yoga sculpt with Beth Sweetana is 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Siegfried Elementary School, Northampton. All levels are welcome. Bring a mat and water.

Water aerobics with Susan Roberts is set for 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays April 7-May 14 in the Northampton Area Middle School natatorium. The makeup dates are May 19 and 21. Locker rooms are available if needed.

Aqua Zumba with Tara Miller invites you to join the dance party in the water! Classes are 7:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays April 13, 20 and 27 and May 4 and 11 at the NAMS natatorium. The makeup date will be May 18. No drop-ins. The class will be capped at 45 people.

Registration is at nasdschools.org under the community tab. Participants do not need to be NASD residents to join but must be at least 15 years old.

Pink Pumpkins Coins 4 Chemo will be holding its Spring Fling event 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 11 at Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 2110 Canal St.

There will be an Easter egg hunt, door prizes, kid prizes and activities, a basket raffle and a craft and vendor fair.

Egg hunt registration is 10-11:30 a.m., and the hunt begins noon.

Proceeds benefit cancer warriors in our community.

State Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, will be hosting a free shredding event 10 a.m.-noon April 18 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. The event is to help safeguard residents against identity theft by having their personal documents securely destroyed.

Information also will be provided about consumer protection and identity theft.

No RSVP is required.

The trip schedule is April 21 at Sight and Sound Theater for “Joshua”; May 13 at Hanover Manor for “Vegas”; June 17 at the Resorts World Casino, Catskills, to see “Summer Nights”; July 22 on a cruise on the River Queen Paddleboat; Aug. 18 to Kreider Dairy Farm; Sept. 22 at LiCreci’s for Fiesta De Gennaro Italian Day; Oct. 8 at Silver Birches in the Poconos for “Voices of Legends” and the fall foliage train ride; and Nov. 17 at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse for “Most Beloved Playhouse Christmas Memories.”
