Fire departments hold egg hunt

Catasauqua and North Catasauqua firefighters hosted an egg hunt for local children from both boroughs March 28 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.

In two-year age groups, spanning ages 1-10 years old, the children were able to rush into the designated circle and grab as many eggs as they could until there were none left. Each egg was filled with either candy or a numbered ticket, which corresponded to a larger prize that could be redeemed after each round.

Children and their families were also visited by the Easter Bunny at this event and were able to hug, high five or take pictures with the character.

After the 9-10 age group hunted their eggs, it was announced the Easter Bunny would be boarding the shuttle, a bus paid for by the Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce, to charter guests between the park on American Street and the borough hall building on Bridge Street for the Catty in Bloom festival, hosted by the Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce and Catasauqua Borough.
