Catasauqua: Holy Trinity Memorial Church egg hunt planned for April 4

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding a free community egg hunt 10 a.m. April 4. The event will be held rain or shine.

The egg hunt is for ages 1-6, and bingo is for ages 1-12. An adult must stay with the child.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will be closed April 3 and 4 for Easter.

Changeover from fall and winter clothing to spring and summer clothing will take place April 6-8. The shop will reopen with all new clothing for spring and summer April 9.

The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular shop hours.

The shop’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Seats are still available for the AARP 8-hour driver’s safety course, planned for noon-4 p.m. April 7 and 14 at Zentz Community Center at Fellowship Community, 3020 Fellowship Drive, Whitehall.

Call Gwen Herzog at 610-379-6823 to register for this course. Individuals who complete the course may be eligible for a three-year discount on their automobile insurance.

Catasauqua Community Food Bank, 527 Front St., is accepting donations of hams for the Easter holiday.

The food bank also needs pasta, cereal, soup, rice, stuffing, instant potatoes, granola bars and peanut butter crackers. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Donations may be dropped off during open hours, 3-4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Any donations or checks to the food bank must be written to Catasauqua Community Partnership or CCPI, due to banking regulations.
