East Allen residents are encouraged to help celebrate Earth Day by taking part in community planting days, scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 22 and 25 at Habitat Park, within Bicentennial Park.

Residents of all ages are welcome to help with planting. Gloves and tools will be provided.

Zion’s Stone United Church of Christ, 51 Church Road, Kreidersville, is holding a gift card bingo April 24. Doors open 5 p.m., and bingo starts 6:30 p.m.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1335 Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, will be holding a drive-thru chicken dinner 4-6 p.m. April 25. Dinners need to be preordered.

The dinner consists of half of a roasted chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, dinner roll and choice of dessert, including white, chocolate or molasses cake or brownies.

The Allen Township dog park is temporarily closed, tentatively through the end of April. This closure is due to the amount of precipitation the area has experienced during the past few months.

All residents with dogs need to be aware that Pennsylvania state law requires all dogs 3 months of age and older must be licensed. The Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement will be visiting neighborhoods inspecting dog licenses, and dog owners unable to produce proof of licensure will be fined.

Licenses are valid for the county in which the owner resides and need to be renewed yearly. They remain valid from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of the current year.

Owners of unlicensed dogs are subject to fines up to $300.

Lappawinzo Fish and Game will hold a fishing contest May 2 and 3.

Registration will start 8 a.m. The youth contest is 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and the adult contest will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Register now for the East Allen Township summer camp program, set for June 22-Aug. 7. Camp runs 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Children ages 6-11 can participate. There is a cost.
