At the March 5 Upper Milford Township Board of Supervisors meeting, Solicitor Marc Fisher informed the board the extension of closure dates to Mill Road being contingent upon a bond to protect township roads was addressed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
PennDOT will require a bond from the contractor to cover PennDOT’s work and potential issues with the roads. Fisher said the work will be videotaped during and after until the roadway is completed.
The board also approved Resolution 2026-04 for the snow emergency that occurred Feb. 22-23.
The board approved Office Assistant Kyle Walbert’s request to advertise the sale of the township’s 16-foot landscape trailer on Municibid. A new 18-foot trailer has been purchased so the shorter trailer is no longer needed. Township resident Colt Hershinger inquired about the township maintaining this trailer as a spare. Walbert explained the township has more efficient equipment that could be used if necessary.
Supervisor Dan Mohr questioned if the trailer could be used for a stage for the Vera Cruz Homecoming bands as well as the 250th celebration. The township is still seeking a stage for these two events.
The board approved the appointment of Jeffrey Johns to the open space committee through Jan. 2, 2029. Johns will fill one of two vacancies on this committee.
Finally, Planning Coordinator Brian Miller was not present at this meeting so Carter shared an informational letter regarding work completed on Church Road.
