Moravian University sophomore Roman Farhad (Liberty HS) has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.
Farhad led the Greyhounds with an overall mark of 4-2 in nonconference action in Florida last week. Farhad went 2-1 at fourth singles in losses to the College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), Loras (Iowa) College and Covenant (Ga.) College, and he was 2-1 at second doubles with junior Gavin Labbadia.
“Roman had a great week for us during our spring training trip, winning the majority of his singles and doubles matches,” stated Director of Tennis Mariana Freitas. “It was especially impressive considering the tough conditions and the fact that he was competing throughout Ramadan. He’s a very solid player who continues to perform at a high level for us, and his consistency and competitiveness will continue to be a big asset to our team this season.”
Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 21 in a Landmark Conference match at Elizabethtown College beginning at 12 p.m.
