CONTRIBUTED PHOTOBogert’s Covered Bridge, Fish Hatchery Road, Allentown, is one of the oldest covered bridges in the United States, built in 1841. This historic bridge was named after the Bogert family, who owned the surrounding land starting in 1744. It spans 145 feet over Little Lehigh River. The bridge is undergoing a total restoration. The bridge was closed for rehabilitation Sept. 15, 2025 and is expected to be closed at least through August. The $2.5 million project will include restoring the structure, correcting its sag, repairing siding, painting and replacing the roof.
