Robert A. Green

Fullerton American Legion Post 367 member

Robert A. Green, 85, of Bethlehem and formerly of Whitehall, died March 21, 2026, in hospice care. He was the husband of Andrea L. (Pelosi) Green for more than 60 years.

Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Robert M. Green and Elizabeth (Glomb) Green Kaldy (Rudy).

He graduated from Stephen S. Palmer High School in 1958. He graduated from Bloomsburg, Temple and Nova universities with a bachelor’s degree in speech therapy, master’s in speech pathology and a doctorate in educational administration.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB, Keesler AFB and RAF Alconbury (England) in radar and radio maintenance, serving until 1962.

He was employed from 1965 to 1996 by Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 as a speech therapist, hearing therapist, supervisor of special education and retired as assistant director of special education.

He was a past chairman of the Minsi Trails Council Scouting with Special Needs program.

He was an avid amateur radio operator (KE3AW) for more than 40 years and never missed an opportunity to share stories of his 75-foot radio tower or his countless QSO contacts. He held many executive positions with Delaware Lehigh Amateur Radio Club and was active at field days, special event stations and in the testing of new ham operators.

He organized communication for many community events, such as MS 150 bike rides and the Emmaus Halloween parade.

He volunteered with Palmerton Historical Society and was active with an online group dedicated to Air Force veterans and friends of RAF Alconbury. He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kelly Ann Krauss with Roger of Bethlehem Township and Andy with Kim of Redlands, Calif.; two grandchildren, Emily and Erin Krauss; a sister, Kay Rizzetto with Lou; a sister-in-law, Gloria Hinrichs; two brothers-in-law, Dave Hinrichs and Bob Harry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Angney with Larry; and a sister-in-law, Anita Harry.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
