Northampton: New school district community classes to begin April 1

It’s time to sign up for Northampton Area School District’s community education spring class offerings.

Beginner crochet with Stephanie Mohler will be 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 and May 6 at George Wolf Elementary School, Bath. Learn how to crochet with one-on-one help from our experienced instructor. You will work toward a project of your choice. All materials will be provided. No drop-ins are permitted.

Coed basketball with Matthew Heisler will be 10-11:30 a.m. Saturdays April 4, 11, 18 and 25 at Lehigh Elementary School, Walnutport. Play your favorite ball game in the new gym. You will have time to warm up, then be put into teams to play a friendly game of basketball. All abilities are welcome.

Yoga sculpt with Beth Sweetana is 7-8 p.m. Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Siegfried Elementary School, Northampton. This energizing 60-minute fusion of strength and yoga is designed to sculpt and support your legs, arms and core. This class combines controlled strength intervals with flowing yoga sequences to improve stability, flexibility and functional strength. Perfect for anyone looking to build muscle while maintaining mobility and mindfulness. All levels are welcome. Bring a mat and water.

Water aerobics with Susan Roberts is set for 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays April 7-May 14 in the Northampton Area Middle School natatorium. The makeup dates are May 19 and 21. This low-impact workout is kind to your joints. The instructor will explain all the exercises and utilize noodles, water dumbbells and water belts to get a total body workout. Locker rooms are available if needed.

Aqua Zumba with Tara Miller invites you to join the dance party in the water! The instructor will be outside the water, demonstrating the choreography to each song. Classes are 7:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays April 13, 20 and 27 and May 4 and 11 at the NAMS natatorium. The makeup date will be May 18. No drop-ins. The class will be capped at 45 people.

Registration is at nasdschools.org under the community tab. Participants do not need to be NASD residents to join but must be at least 15 years old.

Reminder: All orders from the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church nut roll and halupki sales can be picked up 10 a.m.-noon March 28 at the church, 1301 Newport Ave.

Grace UCC will be holding a potluck supper 6 p.m. April 2 in the fellowship hall, followed by a special worship service 7 p.m. in the sanctuary for Maundy Thursday.

A Good Friday worship service will be held 7 p.m. April 3.

Easter Sunday services will be held 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. April 5. A breakfast will be served 9 a.m. Easter morning in the fellowship hall.

Breakfast options include bacon or sausage sandwiches with egg and cheese and chocolate chip or plain pancakes.

There is no charge for breakfast, but donations are welcome.

The church is also holding an Easter egg hunt 10 a.m. April 4 at the Franklin building playground, followed by a lunch of hot dogs, snacks and beverages at the church, located across the street from the school. There will be special prizes and candy, and the Easter Bunny will be available for photos.

In case of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be held in the church’s fellowship hall.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is registering for the 2026-27 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The class size is limited to 12 children, and children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The class size is limited to 16 children, and children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The class size is limited to 16 children, and children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
